| Rick Elliott drumsforu.com Owner Five years ago a young lady at my church, The First United Methodist Church in downtown Fort Worth, asked me if I would teach her how to play the drum set. (For 2 years I played for the morning & evening Contemporary services). She sang in the youth choir & also played hand bells. She wanted to learn how to play the drum set so she could play in one of the youth bands at out church. My response was sure, I would be more than happy to teach you. Well, that's how it all got started. Since then I have dedicated my time in teaching drum set lessons full-time. I have played 1000s of gigs; Rock, Country, Blues, Jazz, Contemporary Christian, R & B, Funk, Fusion & Musicals. 40 years playing the drum set. I am 53 years young. I am having the time of my life teaching & in the process have developed a successful method for teaching beginners how to play the drum set & how to read rhythm. My focus with every student is LET'S HAVE FUN LEARNING HOW TO PLAY THE DRUM SET. If it's not FUN then you should be doing something else. Personal PRACTICE TIME should be FUN too! |
