| 6-05-07 Our son began taking lessons from Rick in June of 2005. We have been immensely pleased with our son's progress. Rick has been a wonderful instructor. He has tremendous patience, and our son really learned a lot from his lessons. We did the weekly lessons. Rick was always willing to work around our schedule. He was always very understanding and flexible. Just a few weeks ago our son participated in his school talent show. All the students and teachers were blown away by how impressive he was on the drums. I always appreciated the fact that after our son learned the basics that Rick encouraged him to play the music that interested him. He also introduced our son to many different styles of music. My husband and I both can't say enough positive things concerning Rick. We consider it a blessing to have made his acquaintance and his professional service has been invaluable to our family. | 8-28-08 To Whom it May Concern: I am very pleased to write this letter of recommendation for my son’s drum teacher, Rick Elliott. I am a college teacher myself, so I know a quality teacher when I see one. That is to say…Rick is invested in his students, in their being, growing to be the best drummer they can be. He gives of himself so much to the process that he serves not only as teacher, but counselor, mentor, and cheerleader. Rick has helped find and has provided opportunities for my son, Jackson, to perform. He will spend his time coming to venues to support his students. He stays after lesson time to share and get to know musical interests. No matter what type of music your child (or you) want to play, Rick is a master teaching it, but he won’t stop there, instead insisting that you be familiar with all categories. What if you have the opportunity to play a country gig but don’t know the rhythm! Suffice to say, I most highly recommend Rick Elliott as a drum instructor. He will teach rudiments, fills, everything…. starting from how to setting up your drums… Please feel free to call if you have question or require more information. Sincerely, Christine M. Walsh |
